Becoming an Assistance Dog Trainer

Have you got what it takes to become one of our Trainers and help change a veteran’s life?

Professional dog trainers who use modern, positive methods are always needed throughout the UK to help deliver our PALS (Partner Animal Life Skills) training to veterans.

We work with partnerships from across the country and are keen to hear from trainers interested in joining the team, wherever you’re based.

We’re proud of the high standards maintained by our trainers, and their skill in teaching clients through positive, reward‑based techniques.

We recruit trainers with proven experience and theory‑based knowledge from reputable training providers. Working with mental health support dogs requires specialist skill – our trainers help shape confident dogs capable of recognising anxiety alerts, thinking independently, and responding appropriately to crisis behaviour.

Specific Mental Health Awareness Training – tailored to our veterans – is provided to all trainers, with ongoing CPD at no cost. You’ll also receive support to deepen your understanding of PTSD, its effects, and how an assistance dog meets the complex needs of those living with psychological injury.

“The best part is seeing the partnership grow and develop into a fully fledged working team – and the difference it makes to the life of a Veteran.”
