Veterans With Dogs is pleased to announce that we have now achieved accreditation by Assistance Dogs International (ADI), a key milestone in the development and progression of the Charity.
ADI is the leading authority in the assistance dog industry, which establishes and promotes standards of excellence in all areas of assistance dog acquisition, training, and partnership. Assistance Dogs UK is the regional umbrella organisation that oversees and represents all the accredited assistance dog programmes here in the United Kingdom.
“VWD is proud to be an active member of ADI,” says Craig MacLellan CEO. “ADI standards are the internationally recognised benchmarks to measure excellence in the assistance dog world, and Veterans can feel confident that an ADI-accredited organisation like VWD is an appropriate organisation for them, that meets strictly defined standards, is trustworthy, and can truly help change their lives. Every aspect of our programmes, from the training of puppies and dogs, to the training, education and support our clients receive, meet the extraordinary criteria established by ADI.”
Veterans With Dogs was the very first organisation in the UK to train dogs specifically for the benefit of mental health for Veterans. VWD is an award winning Charity and is regarded as the UK's leading organisation that trains and provides mental health assistance dogs exclusively for current and former members of the British Armed Forces.
